Catherine Magnan - Visual Artist
Bio
Catherine Magnan is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1991 and grew up in the city of Kingsey Falls. She was then living in Quebec, from 2008 to 2013, where she completed her studies in arts at the Cégep de Ste-Foy, then at Université Laval in visual arts.
There, she discovered the various processes of printmaking; it is the infinite combinations of the different techniques as well as the democratization of the works of art implied in it that make her choose this field as her favorite medium. She also lived in Montreal a couple of years before she started a big road trip across the three Americas, until Buenos Aires. Throughout, the lack of access to the equipment and materials required to do printmaking forced her to limit her art to drawings in a notebook until 2018.
She makes the decision to settle in Quito, Ecuador, where she discovers a great passion for teaching arts and still devotes herself to it today.
Catherine returns to Quebec in August 2021 and keeps making art inspired by her experience in foreign countries.
Her work has been exhibited in Quebec, Montreal, Rimouski, Kingsey Falls and Quito.
